I would like to recommend to you some magazine -Reader's Digest. It is issued every month. It has many interesting articles, for example stories of people who survived a plane crash or a severe illness. There are also jokes and funny stories that are sent by readers. There are also technological news and crosswords. There is also advice on health, food and other matters. These newspapers have format smaller than A5, so we can accommodate them almost everywhere. For this reason,they are great for reading on a journey, but not only ;).
