Hello guys!
Today I want to describe one of the most popular planes from WWII. It is Spitfire. It was designed by R. J. Mitchell in 1931. At the beginning, it was an emergency plane. It wasn’t much better than other warplanes (for example Hurricane). In 1937, after many modifications, the production of Supermarines started. They attracted a lot of attention. During the production (1937 – 1948) about 20,000 Spitfire planes in 10 versions were built. The planes played an important role during the Battle of Britain. They were faster than other British planes and could attack the enemy planes at the first opportunity.
